Taking Sandbox Themes on the Road

Since publishing the Sandbox Six Themes report last month, we received a lot of great feedback and interest from our members, our advisory board, larger organizations, universities, and many others.  To keep the momentum going, we were invited to present these themes at various events and conferences around the world.

Just in the last two weeks [...]

Sandbox at DLD in Munich & World Economic Forum in Davos

A lot of traveling happening in the Sandbox team right now. Antoine just came from Singapore where we hosted an event with the Minister of Entrepreneurship (huge thanks to Sandboxer Andi Brenner for the amazing organization!), and our team will be at Digital, Life, Design Conference in Munich and at the World Economic Forum [...]

Sandbox’ partner OYW in The Economist

Sandbox’ exclusive talent partner OneYoungWorld has been covered by The Economist’s The World in 2010. We are glad and proud that the event, for which Sandboxer Lucian Tarnowski does the social media search, is attracting the deserved global attention.
The summit of 1500 delegates from allover the world, which will (for the first time in history) [...]

Ideas & thoughts from Palomar5 in Berlin

I just arrived back from a mind-blowing week in Berlin at Palomar 5. I wanted to thank everyone at P5 for the amazing days and write down a few thoughts, learnings and ideas from the last 5 days in Berlin. There is much more that would deserve to be told, like stories about mexican-human-mini-golf courses at 4 am, midnight Omelette cooking with Saga or Eddie’s theory of focus vs. broadness on a napkin. Below some of the stuff that inspired me most and ideas that came out of it.

We are looking forward to a [...]

Oh my, I’m jealous: These Sandboxers go to Palomar5 in Berlin

The Palomar5 location in Berlin (picture by Palomar5)
Palomar5, the inspiration camp taking place in Berlin in October and November, has just announced its list of participants. And we’re honored that out of the 30 people who have been selected to attend, four are active members of Sandbox: Congratulations to Sagarika, Eddie, Jyoti and Ian! I [...]

On the surprising science of motivation

Traditional rewards aren’t always as effective as we think, that’s what Daniel Pink demonstrates in this talk. There is a mismatch between what science knows and what managers do. How to best motivate people to do work? This message should have been heard by every bank manager two years ago. And is a must-hear for [...]

Palomar5 Microcamp in Berlin

A new project from our friends Hans & Mathias, the Palomar5 Microcamp is an exclusive innovation camp taking place on May 17-23 in Berlin, which paves the way for a bigger Palomar5 Camp, which will take place in Fall. By gathering 20 young protagonists from the new generation in an inspiring location - expenses covered - Palomar5 Microcamp attempts to raise issues regarding the current way we work, and create alternatives - along future technologies, ethical needs, new leadership models and dynamic eco systems.
