The conference that comes to you
October 20th, 2008 by Nico LuchsingerAs we were developing the concept for Sandbox, we talked a lot about how to bring the young talents together. Should we just create a social network and let them talk online – or should we organize a conference that unites them all in one place? We eventually decided to do both, because we believe that real connections between people are only forged online.
But there are other ways than “just online” and “just offline”. A case in point is the <head> conference, scheduled to take place from October 24-26. <head> is a “global web conference” – which means that it actually takes place on the web, where all the presentations are streamed. But the twist is that there are also “local hubs”: gatherings in different places all over the world, where people will follow the conference. <head> thus combines local offline hubs and connects them globally online. The hub in Fribourg, Switzerland, is hosted by our good friends from Liip.
