How to & why become a member? Who can apply?

Do you feel a Sandbox-heart beating inside of you? Then help us understand what makes you the extraordinary young person you are. When it comes to integrating new members in the network, we are very selective. We don’t want to keep it artificially small, nor are we arrogant pricks, but the main value of the community lies in the fact that we were able to carefully select a group of extraordinary people where everyone trusts and supports each other. We have very high expectations and the people chosen to join our trusted circle have to make us go “WOW”.

HOW DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORK?

In order to be admitted to Sandbox, candidates must successfully complete 3 steps:

1. GET RECOMMENDED: you must be recommended by an existing Sandbox member. If you don’t know any Sandboxer yet, don’t worry: complete steps 2 and 3 and we will then arrange a meeting or a call with someone who is in the position to recommend you for membership.

2. CREATE AN ONLINE PROFILE: take time and be creative when completing our online profile as a pre-screening is based on it. Once you passed the pre-screening you will receive an email informing you in detail about part 3. Create your online profile on this page.

3. HELP US TO KNOW YOU BETTER: show us the WOW (the real you). Prepare a personal contribution, send it to us via email (or maybe even via mail?) and surprise us. How can we see that you are a real Sandboxer full of passion, ideas and the power to make things happen? What are the questions that we should have asked you but didn’t ask you? Only you know these answers best. Choose your own format (essay, audio, video, .ppt, …) don’t be shy and show us how you tick! We take this part of the application very seriously.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?

Sandbox is not for everyone. We’re looking for atypical young people who make us go WOW. Already in their twenties Sandboxers run their own businesses, drive forward organizations, take over leadership roles, do cutting-edge research or political work, create art, write books or build social enterprises. CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

1. Be under 30 years of age
2. Be considered a young leader in your respective field
3. Be recommended by an existing member of the network
4. Be fluent in English

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA

These qualities are common to most Sandboxers. You can be selected as a member without having all of them, but if you don’t recognise yourself in this short profile, Sandbox is probably not for you.
