We are growing the family and looking for an ambitious young achiever to lead the business side of Sandbox worldwide.
In a nutshell
Sandbox is a selective community of extraordinary young achievers, providing the leaders of tomorrow with the tools to have global impact and accelerate. While we aspire to create more and more value for our members every day, we are looking for a team member who helps us to deepen the relationships with our corporate clients.
Role description – what is your mission?
- Conceptualize the products and services we are offering to our clients: figure out how we bring extraordinary young achievers, their ideas, their dynamic and their passion into large organizations while creating value for both the members and the clients (not easy, but definitely possible).
- Market the products and convince new clients (other people call it “Sales”).
- Deliver outstanding products and make our clients fall in love with us.
- Build up long term relationships with our clients and gain their trust.
- Identify / evaluate new business opportunities and make them reality.
We’re a fast-moving start-up, there will be other stuff coming up you haven’t even dreamed of, we give you a written guarantee that you’ll never get bored ;-)
Who are we looking for?
There is not one perfect profile but millions of it. We love diversity and don’t care if you came the classical way or prefer non-traditional career paths. In short we are looking for the same qualities as in our Sandbox members: remarkable impact and passion. We value achievements and passion over grades and references. And yes, our expectations are high.
Here are some thoughts:
- We love people with an interesting story and who have achieved way more than anyone else at their age. Our Head of Business Development represents our whole community towards top executives and you need to be able to live up to these expectations. And you need to be under 30.
- We look for someone who knows the corporate world and can translate what Sandboxers say into the corporate language.
- We are entrepreneurs at heart and need you to also think entrepreneurially, in whatever you do.
- You can sell
- You have knowledge about how to run a business, either from studying, from practical experience or ideally from both.
- You love networking with other people and ideally are already well connected in Europe.
- You are looking for an extremely challenging and at the same time rewarding experience within a start-up.
- You love innovation and feel comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
- You might have experience in consulting.
- You feel comfortable about interacting with senior executives.
- You speak German since Switzerland and Germany represent one of our prime markets. Plus you are fluent in English as all communication at Sandbox is in English.
How much $$$? We can’t pay as good as a big corporate, but instead …
- You will be working at our headquarter in beautiful Zurich, in a small team of 4 people supported by co-founders in New York, London, Singapore.
- You will be interacting with some of the most inspiring young people today and you’ll have a couch to stay at in every bigger city on the planet.
- You will be building relationships with senior management in large organizations. And thanks to your job at Sandbox you’ll have a great excuse to talk to any executive, anywhere.
- You will be part of the management team and have full responsibilities for your areas. And you will get support from us: as we are still an early start-up, everyone helps each other.

Why are we looking for a Head of Business Development & Sales?
As we lead this unique community, companies have approached Sandbox to find out more about young achievers worldwide. We have for example consulted one of the world’s biggest car manufacturer and a large city on how to use social media technologies, we have lead a workshop for a major global bank and done product development for a start-up. More and more opportunities keep popping up, but where is the focus? Exactly! We are currently in the process of clearly defining a portfolio of products that we offer and would love to get YOUR help to shape the business side of Sandbox and bring it to the market.
We see great potential to successfully position Sandbox with corporates and believe that this role could be an exciting challenge for an ambitious young person. While we want to create profits with the work we do for corporate clients, this work has to eventually benefit our members. Because that’s what we breath and live for - to help Sandboxers grow and drive positive impact in the world.
