iphone app developed by Sandboxer & Team wins White House Apps Against Abuse Challenge

Congratulations Sandboxer Christine Moran and her fellow team members for winning the White House Apps Against Abuse Challenge! Their recently launched Circleof6 aims to reduce sexual assault on campuses by raising awareness to its prevalence, enable a one tap solution to an emergency hotline, and developing a supportive circle of 6 friends to turn to in the event you need in-person support.

Sandboxer interviewed on Social Media & the Film Industry

Eric Kuhn, head of social media at United Talent Agency, is interviewed by C21media on how social media is becoming increasingly significant for film studios with some even beginning to choose actors based on how many Twitter and Facebook followers they have.

Sandboxer launches #FixYoungAmerica

Sandboxer Scott Gerber  is the founder of the Young Entrepreneur Council, which recently launched its #FixYoungAmerica campaign. YEC has worked with tens of thousands of young people and dozens of America’s most storied institutions and organizations, the Young Entrepreneur Council has witnessed firsthand the programs, policies and solutions that ARE working. Now, it seeks to lead a solutions-based movement and start a much-needed conversation in the US .

2. New in the Sandbox

Christoph Birkholz

Christoph Birkholz recently co-founded The Hub Zurich while pursuing his PhD in Business Administration at the Good Energies Chair for Management of Renewable Energies of the University of St. Gallen. Christoph established the Hub Fellowship programme and is currently developing its global roll-out. He has studied globally and travelled extensively, has a wide horizon and is a cool guy to hang out with. Rest assured that he’ll inspire you! Welcome Christoph, we’re thrilled to have you in Zurich!

David Burstein

David Burstein is a filmmaker, writer, journalist, activist and advocate. He passionately believes in the power of stories and narratives in advancing important issues in our world. As a result, he has founded Generation18, is the director of “18 in ’08″, a documentary film on young voters, and is a contributor to Fast Company, where he writes about innovation. No small feat! On top of that, he’s writing his debut book, Fast Future: How the Millennials are Shaping Our World, to be released in 2013. Welcome to the family, David!

César Salazar

César Salazar has been an entrepreneur and web developer for nearly 10 years and is transforming the technology sector in Mexico. Over the past three years, he has led key efforts to empower startup and hacker communities in his home country of Mexico. He specializes in User Experience Architecture and Product Engineering. César recently joined the first Silicon Valley backed seed fund for Mexican startups, Mexican.VC. He is also one of the co-founders of SuperHappyDevHouse Mexico City and Hackspedition. Welcome to Sandbox, César!
