DOING GOOD WHILE SEARCHING
One of the reasons we I keep being fascinated by the internet and all the innovation happening online is that certain things suddenly become very simple and easy to do. A perfect example is Afroo.org, a website launched by five students from Germany, including our very good friend Hans Raffauf.
Afroo.org allows you to to your web searches just as you’re used to doing it. But the site also displays some ads; and all the revenue generated from the ads goes to a Unicef project for building schools in Africa. With the enormous amount of searches being done on the web every day, Afroo’s potential for raising money is huge, even if the revenue for each performed search might only be a fraction of a cent. The site, which relaunched today with a new layout, has already raised over 2000 Euro.
We’re hoping, of course, that it will become a lot more, and are asking you to help - by simply klicking through to Afroo.org to do your searches, or, even better, make Afroo.org your default search page or home page.
PS. Afroo is currently available in German only, but the English version should be online very soon.
