Fred on the road from Gibraltar to North Cape
August 28th, 2009 by Johanna Mischke
From March to April 2010 Stockholm Sandboxer and Co-founder of one of our community partners Young Entrepreneurs of Sweden , Fredrik Hagenius, is planning to hop on his bike and cycle from Gibraltar to North Cape.
“I’m planning to do this challenge during 30 to 50 days, depending on budget and how good shape I will be in. Starting the trip in Gibraltar, UK (South Spain), cycling through Spanish east coast, Barcelona, Geneva, Zurich, Berlin and Copenhagen to mention a few and later finishing in North Cape, Norway. A total of 5678 km.”, he says.

His motivation for taking this challenge are getting to his limits, exploring more of the European countryside, sending out a message, inspiring others to do crazy things, meeting a lot of interesting new people, becoming more physically and mentally fit, getting inspired and having something to tell to his grandchildren when he’s old.
At the core of Fred’s journey is to raise awareness about the small things everyone can do to fight climate change: “My idea during the trip is to do mini-projects earning money and help the local community, preferable connected to slowing the climate change. The trip can be a good way to raise money and attention to the emerging crisis that global warming is. This project should aim the encourage people to choose the bike more often before the car.”

Good luck Fred!
