SANDBOX DINNERS EVERYWHERE!
October 2nd, 2008 by Nico LuchsingerOne of the main reasons for doing Sandbox is that we just love meeting interesting people and having great conversations. Because we also love delicious food and drinks, we’ve started to organize Sandbox dinners, where we invite a couple of people to eat and debate with us. Until now, most of these dinners took place in our home base Zurich (except for one in London) – but now, we’re going really international.
Last week, while we were at Picnic, we organized two dinners in Amsterdam (one of them at the great Café Restaurant Amsterdam), where the discussions revolved around the questions whether financial constraints are actually good for startups (they might be) and if Internet startups really need a business model (apparently, they don’t).
Yesterday, it was again Zurich’s turn, with a dinner at our favorite Mezze place and great group of young people. This time, we discussed venture capital in Asia and tried to come up with a democratical political system without parties (still working on it), among many other things.
And next week, on Wednesday, the first Sandbox dinner ever in New York will take place. This being the Big Apple, we have no doubt that both the people and the food will be awesome. If you’re in town and want to join, drop Fabian a line – or just leave a comment here.
