Sandboxer Mike del Ponte is the CEO of a great initiative called Sparkseed. Sparkseed aims to train the top social entrepreneurs of tomorrow, as they lead social ventures today.

Mike started Sparkseed because he believes college social entrepreneurs have innovative ideas and the passion to change the world. By providing mentoring, seed money, web tools, and skills training, Sparkseed helps college students launch and grow social businesses.
Over the past two years, Sparkseed has launched 31 ventures throughout the country.

Mike ran his first national organization at the age of 18 and has since served as a humanitarian on four continents, most recently as a microfinance consultant in Nepal. Mike received his B.A. from Boston College and an M.A.R. from the Yale University Divinity School. His interests include social entrepreneurship, public speaking, and spirituality. He currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
