Sandbox Social Entrepreneurship Sandboxing at SOCAP

Sandboxing at SOCAP

September 8th, 2011 by Allison Kramer

As part of Sandbox’s increasing involvement on the social entrepreneurship scene, we are proud to announce a new partnership with SOCAP - social capital markets, the leading platform in the field of social entrepreneurship. This partnership, made possible by the great work of head of Sandbox America Fabian Pformüller, will provide the opportunity to further explore the overlaps between the Sandbox philosophy and SOCAP’s overarching aim to promote business who aim to both do well (financially) and do good (socially).

Sandbox side dinner at SOCAP conference, eyes gleaming with excitement…

In order to celebrate this new partnership, Sandbox will, for the first time, be present as an official partner and hold a side Sandbox event during the Social Capital Markets Conference 2011 at San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center from 6-9 September. As SOCAP Leadership has selected Social Entrepreneurship as one of the main themes of the Conference this year, Sandboxers will come together around the theme of impact investing and sixteen leading social enterprises will give their corporate presentations to impact investors. Selected out of more than 80 companies, many of the businesses short-listed are lead by Sandboxers, including (to cite but a few!) Kalsoom Lakhani‘s invest2innovate, One Earth Designs, Unreasonable Institute, and potential Sandboxer Melissa Richer‘s Ayllu Initiative, giving them a unique opportunity to pitch their business case to SOCAP attendees on the main stage.

SOCAP is a multi-platform organization dedicated to expanding impact investing and the flow of capital towards social good. Based in San Francisco, California, SOCAP events aim to bring together leading innovators, connecting social entrepreneurs with investors, foundations, and institutions. An acclaimed leader in the impact investing space, SOCAP, together with Sandbox and other institutions, seeks to promote businesses at the intersection of money and meaning.
