I like what you wrote. There definitively are many meaningful, important channels on the internet. Like wikileaks.org for example.
But I guess it gets harder to find them among all the trivial background noise.

Really great article, Nico. One positive use of online social networks is to position oneself as an expert within one’s peer groups (professional and private). It’s really easy to do: connect google reader to Twitter, connect Twitter to Facebook & LikedIn. “Share” a selection of articles “within the scope of a certain topic” on reader and they’ll automatically be pushed out to peers. Few people comment or interact with the content, but a lot more consume it and actually give feedback in person.
